The Kitchen Sink

Today Wyatt and I hung out with Gabby. It was a great day that ended in Wyatt's first real bath...since his umbilical cord fell out (gross).

It was the cutest thing ever. See for yourself...by the end of the bath, our little cuddlebug couldn't even keep his eyes open. Love it.

Wyatt & Gabby

Mr. Precious

Things are going well around here. We've got feedings down. Jason has been a super help - but now he's sleeping through the night, letting Wyatt and me figure out what is what.
Our little baby gets the hiccups every night, but he's such a good sport about it. Even the hiccups are cute.
I can't believe this will be my first Mother's Day.
Mom has invited us over, along with Aunt Sue & Uncle Jim, and Aunt Katie. We're doing brunch on Saturday by the pool. The weather should be perfect and I'm looking forward to getting out of the house.

Saw my dr today - she took the steri strips off and gave me a clean bill of health. Driving is still out for awhile longer, but I have a chauffeur, so it's cool.

Wyatt sees his doctor on Friday, but the way he's been eating, I fully expect him to have put on ten pounds. His umbilical cord fell off today while Gabby was watching him. First milestone!!

Wyatt Dodd Cassady

Wyatt was born at 3:32 Thursday morning (4/23).
He weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and was 20.5 inches long.
Here are some photos of our time at the hospital. We're back home now and just trying to figure out this new life. :)

38 Weeks 5 Days

Miserable has taken on a new level. Contractions have started, which is good, but they're not consistent, which is not good.
The next doctor's appointment is Thursday morning at 9:30 - they will be doing an ultrasound at that point and then revisiting our options.

In the meantime, I've decided to take some time off work. The doctor recommended it, and it has been a fab suggestion. :)
I've been trying to schedule one thing a day to "keep busy"...plus Jas has been taking walks with me like a mad man.

Katie and I met Paula Deen at her book signing. She was so friendly.

A group of us went to Loft 610 and met Chef Tre Wilcox. It was a delicious dinner and he was super friendly. When he put his hand on the baby, my whole tummy disappeared. That was crazy. Hopefully some of his lucky chef talent will rub off on either Baby Cass or myself.

And today I had a massage - which was brilliant.

That's what I've been up to.
I'll keep you posted!

37 Weeks and 3 Days

These days are very slow paced. :) Jason and I will go for a walk to try and force the baby out. I don't even cook anymore, we eat out a lot. And then we go to bed and play Bookworm on our iPhones, trying to outscore each other. Pretty low key.

This weekend we've done some stuff, though. The baskets for the changing table finally came in, so we put that together. We also unrolled the diaper cake we received from my Aunts and sorted them into the proper baskets.

Then Jas put together the play-pen. He rigged it up to be a bassinet so that the baby will have somewhere to sleep downstairs. That was quite an adventure.

We had dinner with the Peterson's. Heidi and I are about a day apart, pregnancy wise. It was nice to commiserate with another pregnant lady. She made these delicious "mocktails" with cranberry, pineapple, and 7-Up. She even sugared the rims and added a strawberry. The sugar buzz almost made up for the missing vodka.

And this morning, I finished up my scrapbook while Jason was sleeping. So really, there is nothing that needs doing. We are just waiting...waiting...waiting...

A Few Things I'm Keeping My Eye On...

Less than 3 weeks now until Baby Cass comes (hopefully sooner!!), and I'm always keeping an eye out for things that the baby "needs". Mind you, I don't actually have practical knowledge of what a baby will need...these are things that seem like a good idea in my head.

These first three photos are from spoonsisters.com - a new site to adore!
Precious. But do I pick the pig or the elephant? The ears on the pig help to serve a drool catcher. Genius!

How about this little outfit for my sweet pea?

Maybe he/she will need some new silverware? This looks like a good set...
(babies use silverware, right???)

I definitely need a growth chart to measure my sweet little baby's progress in life.
Check! I've got it covered.
Spoon sisters offer this precious photo marker with room for 20 photos on the left side and a handy dandy ruler for marking on the right.

Maybe you want to measure growth with something a little more organic? Then take in Miss Natalie's Heirloom Growth Chart (available on www.fawnandforest.com).

And finally, we all know how important it is to keep your teeth in good working order. I had my dentist-sister-friend check out this tool to see if it was legit - it got her seal of approval. You put your fingers in the "bunny ears" and wipe the gums to help those little teefers. (Amazon offers the MAM Oral Care Rabbit for $6 and it comes in pink, yellow, or blue.)

The baby world has so much to offer. Who even knew that you NEEDED all of this stuff. :)
