Dueling Babies -Sadly, Jeri is a month ahead!



Yesterday mom's lovely friends threw a wonderful shower for me and for my friend Jeri, who is also pregnant.

The food was spectacular. Every single thing was delicious and I definitely wanted to eat my weight in Debbie's chocolate cake.

My friend Emily is going to shoot some newborn photos for us.
She does great work, and you can see for yourself by clicking here!

While at a shower this weekend, Em was talking over the newborn photo logistics with me. She mentioned that I should pick up a cute little diaper cover for the photo shoot. Since we don't know the gender of our baby, she suggested picking up one for each gender and then having my sis get it monogrammed for us before the photo shoot. Cool.

I started looking at these precious little diaper cover/bloomer things.

Gentle Giraffe

Spent some time with my cousin this weekend who introduced me to the Sleep Sheep. The Sleep Sheep plays four different comforting white noise sounds to that have "therapeutic qualities".
The sheep is cute, but when I went to the website, I saw the Gentle Giraffe, which I love. It is now on my list of must have's. How cute is this little drowsy guy!!??

Reading & Rocking

Unboxed the crib tonight and one of the pieces was broken. Sad face. Now I have to wait until Jas is back from trial before I can get my nursery completed.

There is one aspect that is now finished, though.
My chair/reading/rocking area. I think it looks SO cozy!

The Shower

Last night the McKoolSmith Power Wives threw me the most wonderful shower. From flowers to the cake to the delicious quesadillas, every single detail was perfect.

I really can't imagine a more elegant or fabulous event. I had such a great time!

Carpet Cleaning

The crib shipped today, so today I made the carpet cleaning appointment.
One step closer.

The baby is kicking all of the time now.
Today is the 6 month marker and our first shower is next weekend.
Can't wait.

The Crib

Just ordered the crib!
It was on sale at Pottery Barn and it fits what we're looking for - simple yet elegant. (The photo is from the PB website.)
It should arrive within 5-7 days, so now I need to have the carpets cleaned!
Yeah!!
