Busy Bees - First Week of June 2010

We have been tearing up the highway between Dallas and Rowlett this week to visit with Gabby and get out of the house. Each time we get in the car seat and lock into the car, I immediately fall asleep. But if the car stops, I let mom know how unhappy I am with the situation.

This is Gabby's favorite picture right now. She has it up on her fridge. She calls it "the meanest boy in town" because my face is all banged up from my nails and because the look on my face is a little cantankerous. Gabby and Gramps have come up with all sorts of things I could be saying, based on the way I look. Those two are pretty hilarious.

We spent some time out at Great Aunt Sue's for Memorial Day. It was nice and cool on the lake and I made sure to stay in the shade. Here are some pictures from that fun day!

This week Gabby threw me my first ever luncheon. She served quiche and red, white, and blue salad - all of which was really tasty. We ate out by the pool and then Aunt Kathy and Aunt Vicki took turns passing me around. While Aunt Kath was holding me, I decided to smile for Gabby. It's something I've really started doing this week. But that quickly turned to a frown because I've also kind of been a fussy boy this week.

That's what I've been up to.
Lots of fun!

The Fathers Are Coming Home

This, by far, has been my favorite read this week.
Written by Margaret Wise Brown, The Fathers are Coming Home presents various types of fathers returning home to their babies at the end of the day. So sweet, and here is the biggest endorsement:

Naptime with Gramps

Today while Gabby and I were swimming and drinking Fresca's, Wyatt and Grandpa were catching some zzzzzzz's together.

Gabby said that Wyatt intentionally smiled two times for her - something he won't do for his own mom now that we are home. She also provided some visual stimulus via Mardi Gras beads and she had Wy doing tummy time. Our child prodigy ;) can hold his head up for a minute or two and he can also roll over half way. He's probably going to be a rocket scientist...

School Spirit

Warning: This might break some Hook 'Em Hearts,

but is it possible that someone might have been born a...BEAR???

Time will tell. Sic 'Em!

More from our Favorite Photographer

Here is another photo from our favorite photographer, Emily Mulkey Photography.
I can't wait to see what else she has for us.

Isn't our little cuddlebug adorable?

Being a super sweet boy on Wednesday - hanging out at home with mom, writing thank-you notes...

sacked out in dad's lap after a big day at Gabby's

What did you say, Gabby? a rare example of fussy baby

We spent Monday at Gabby and Grandpa's - boy does that pool look inviting. Maybe we will try it out this weekend?
Yesterday Aunt Katie came over for lunch, just to hold Wyatt.

And this morning we just took it easy. We might get in the car, here in a minute, and get a Derby Cone at Dairy Queen. We will just see how things go. (things, i.e. naptime).

W

Jason went back to work this week (and had another fantastic "week").
Wyatt and I are enjoying a life of leisure. (Haha!)
I've read him several books. He's not quite into that yet. My favorite is still The Little Mouse, The Big Red Strawberry, and The Very Hungry Bear.
He does like the song "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean", a good Scottish lullaby. Too bad I only know verse one. :)

By far, this is still his favorite thing to do:

Love that boy!
