Crib & Bedding

This is the bedding we found at Restoration Hardware. It's silver sage & aqua - the same color as the paint in the nursery (in theory).

Here is a picture of the crib we are considering.
It looks short enough for the mama without having drop sides (danger!! danger!!).

The Nursery - Step 2

Hiep is coming this week to paint so today Jason and I are going to venture out in the post-Christmas mess to finalize paint samples and have the paint mixed...maybe even buy a lamp. I'm still questioning the border. Hiep told me that border is "So ten years ago, but it's your house so you do what you want". Maybe picking the paint will help end the delimma?

Before we go crazy, though, I wanted to put up a progress picture of the nursery.

Shake It, Baby!

This morning I was in bed and I wasn't quite ready to get up...it was one heck of a Thanksgiving holiday weekend, and I'm still working on my recovery. :)

I felt the baby move for the first time ever!!
The first movement felt like popcorn popping.
Once my brain caught up with what was going on, I felt the baby move about five more times.

Before this, I was trying propping pillows under my back to force the baby up. I was making Jason shine a flashlight on the baby, hoping it would move around some.

That whole movement thing was pretty neat. :)
...and now I can quit having OCD about the baby moving.

The Office, No, The Nursery

Today I completed our registries at Babies R Us, Restoration Hardware, and Amazon.
I based my registries off of friends and family and friends of family's suggestions. Folks, there are A LOT of baby things out there. Pacifiers alone had about a million listings.
So that whole thing was a little exhausting.
Do I really need a wipe warmer? Really? Probably not.
But the baby MIGHT need clothes. You can see what I mean...exhausting.

Another exhausting event was converting the office into the nursery.
Before we could get started, every closet in the house needed cleaning/re-organizing.
Then, since I married a pack rat, we had to sort through every single thing and agonize over keeping it or dumping it. :)

Jas was a trooper, though, and managed to get things turned around in there pretty quickly.

Now the to-do list looks like this:
1. Contact painter. Have room painted and border installed.
2. Have carpet cleaned. Thanks for you hard work, dogs. Your dog hair rug will not be needed, though.
3. Order crib and changing table that will double as a dresser.
4. Spray paint dresser in closet so that baby will have plenty of space to store essentials (which, if baby is anything like me, "Essentials" will overfloweth). Install cute drawer pulls that I found for a steal.
5. Curtains
6. Lamp
7. Add baby

You can see that there is much to be done.
(Here are some progressive pics of nursery/office conversion in early stages:)
